Ca' Malipiero Venice6.6Average Guest Rating based on 7 scores

Ca' Malipiero is a noble Venetian building from the XVI century, an age-old residence of Doge Pasqual Malipiero who lived there around 1500.
Ca’ Malipiero is a refined Venetian relais, recognised as a "Period Residence" by the Provincial Authorities and the Monuments and Fine Arts Office of Venice: the vast central lounge overflows with light that filters from the large glass doors and illuminates the precious Venetian floor, the refined upholstery and the period furniture.
Each detail of the building recalls an illustrious past: from the frescos on the high ceilings, to the marble with a thousand reflections.
A stay in this prestigious guesthouse in Venice offers the possibility of breathing the atmosphere of an authentic Venetian residence, to live a truly unforgettable experience.
We are at your complete disposition to help you to organize your stay in Venice by booking your guided tours in the splendid island of the Venetian lagoon, or by acquiring tickets for an exhibition, a concert or a theater show. All our guests can avail of free admission to Venice Casino.
The rooms in this age-old residence are extremely bright and welcoming and some overlook the sunny Campo di Santa Maria Formosa and onto the characteristic internal courtyard.
To offer our guests an ecological and healthy environment, the materials with which the furniture and finishings in the rooms are constructed from are free of any damaging substances, such as formaldehyde based clues. Ca' Malipiero offers single and double rooms and some luxurious suites capable of hosting up to four guests, with splendid fresco ceilings and inlaid wooden floors.
The furniture in the rooms is simple and elegant: soft and pleasant colors, with great attention paid to detail. All the rooms of this prestigious Venetian guesthouse are equipped with all sorts of comforts: air conditioning, TV, mini bar, direct telephone, private bathroom with shower or bath and hairdryers. This hotel is located in the heart of Venice, just a stroll from St. Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge! Campo Santa Maria Formosa, the location of this hotel in Venice, is one of the liveliest and characteristic areas of the city. The Renaissance style Santa Maria Formosa church, with its baroque bell tower, gets its name from the appearance of The Blessed Virgin in the form of a "formosa" or shapely, beautiful woman. The same area hosts the prestigious Querini Stampalia Foundation, with its rich and much-used public library and a considerable gallery of three-hundred paintings by artists from Veneto, including G. Bella, Palma il Giovane, Palma il Vecchio, G. Bellini, P. Longhi

Ca' Malipiero The staff at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast in the morning was acceptable and a nice addition.
Ca' Malipiero The room was so high up that we had to walk up several flights of stairs, which is very difficult with luggage. The area where the rooms were was under construction so that there were unfinished places behind several doors. The many different doors and window shutters rattled throughout the night. The bed was two rollaways put together with one sheet. The springs were sticking up all over the bed which made sleeping without getting poked impossible. Whenever you flushed the toilet, water sprayed out of the button being pushed. This didn't feel very sanitary.

Ca' Malipiero I am very disappointed because the hotel looked very nice online but when we got there we got one triple room that was very nice and spacious but the double room was so small that literally one of us had to shower in a crouched position to prevent from hitting our head on the roof. We only stayed 2 nights and fortunately the staff was able to get us another room for the second night because we were thinking of finding another hotel even if they charged our credit card for the second night. The staff made the fact that they had changed our room very uncomfortable by repeating that they don't usually give that room for such a low price instead just apologizing for giving us such an inappropriate room the first night. I think we would've overlooked most of the hotel's faults if it hadn't been for this experience. The good things were that the bathroom was modern and very clean, the sheets were clean and the location was excellent. The negative aspects were being cheated on our first night with a room that shouldn't even be offered to guests, there is no elevator which becomes a problem if you have big or heavy luggage, the first floor looks a little bit dirty (almost like a haunted house as you walk in with the old carpets and curtains), and the breakfast was lacking some fresh fruits.
