Domus Porto Salvo The hotel is a fair distance from the downtown area but is a great value for money. The hotel came as advertised - serene, quaint and unique (former monestary).

Domus Porto Salvo It was too far of a walk from the hotel to Sorrento. No open view of the sea. Very spartan decor.

Domus Porto Salvo This hotel is a haven of peace ideally placed for people who want to avoid the extremes of Sorrento's road traffic: once you turn off the main street where cars and buses often creep at snails' pace you may discover surprisingly high-speed one-way streets. But Domus Porto Salvo is beyond both these irritants, about 30 paces from the edge of the cliff on a headland projecting out into the vastness of the Bay of Naples. The view is panoramic: you can see everything from Ischia to the north, then Naples itself, then Vesuvius to the east dominating everything; you can also look westwards along the Sorrento peninsular towards Capri. The coastal landscape and the towering mountains inland all add to the spectacle. Because we booked late, the only room available was a small one without an en suite. This was not a problem because there was large, attractive bathroom on our floor which was used by only two other couples. The rest of the rooms were literally twice the size of ours and looked very comfortable. There is a very large lounge, a big courtyard offering offstreet parking. a walled garden with many fruit trees, plenty of seating - including sunbeds. To my mind the info on the web understates the extremely pleasant surroundings. The buffet breakfast caters for most tastes and all appetites. The location could be a problem for those who don't take pleasure in enjoying their surroundings as they walk: the centre of Sorrento or to the nearest train station (Sant'Agnello) are both some distance from Porto Salvo.
