During Middle Ages, the square of the Santa Croce church was scene of festivities, Knights jousting and tournaments. On Via de' Benci, which with Via Magliabechi marks the boundaries of Borgo Santa Croce, there is the Horne Museum, a private collection of sculptures, furniture and ceramics. The two streets are connected by a narrow street, the heart of the village, where there is the house of the painter and architect Giorgio Vasari. Even today the house is a monument of great historical and artistic interest. On the streets of the village and in the nearby area there are many bars and restaurants. In Florence, in the Santa Croce area you may find many 2 and 3 star hotels as well as B&B's, apartments, and Town House Suite.
