The Hotel Athena is a very nice two stars hotel that offers you all the comfort and hospitality you might need.

Hotel located in the University area of Rome, 2 km from downtown and 1 km from the main station. This is a quiet and safe area away from the central station zone.

The property is simple and welcoming and offers Internet access, laundry service and parking service.

The hotel offers 35 rooms, all feature private bathroom with shower and hairdryer.All accommodations are furthermore equipped with air-conditioning, direct dial telephone, Internet access, satellite TV, mini bar and mini safe.

The buffet-breakfast from 7.00 to 9.00 am, is served in a comfortable hall or, in summer time out side the balcony. You will taste various typical roman products such as salami, or eggs.

Travel information

By car From any point of the Grande Raccordo Anulare, reachable by all highways, take the exit n. 14 Tiburtina and follow the indications to Roma centro. Once reached viale Regina Margherita go straight and follow along viale Regina Elena until you will see the University walls on your right. At the traffic light turn left in viale Ippocrate.

By train The Roma Termini railway station is about 1.5 km from the hotel. Guests can take either bus 310 and get off at viale Ippocrate or underground line B, whose stop Policlinico is about 500 meters from the property.

By airplane The Roma Fiumicino airport is connected to the city by highway or by a local train service, called Leonardo Express, leaving every 30 minutes to Termini station. The Roma Ciampino airport is just a few bus stops from underground line A terminus Anagnina. The ride to Termini, where you can change to line B, takes about 20 minutes.

Hotel Athena The information and the images on the Athena Hotel do not give a realistic picture of the actual place, both the building, which is a bit old and in need of maintenance, and the rooms, which are very small and also old and not so well kept including the furniture and general style. Moreover, the hotel doesen't occupy a building on it's own, but is scattered in bits and pieces inside a block of flats with shops on the ground floor (no ensign at the entrance, reception on the first floor, rooms on various floors mixed with the other apartments... However, the really essential things (cleanliness, helpfulness of the hotel people and feeling of safety) are good value compared to the price of the rooms.

Hotel Athena Mein Zimmer hatte leider die Toilettenspülung des Nachbarn in meinem Badezimmer (den Wasserbehälter), was einige Male dazu führte dass Ich durch das tösende Wasser in der Nacht geweckt wurde. Ausserdem war das Zimmer recht dunkel durch das Fehlen eines grossen Fensters. Das Buffet morgens war mehr als ausreichend, einzig Kaffee und Orangensaft waren definitiv instant, man bekam aber auf Anfrage cappuccino oder espresso von guter Qualität. Es wäre gut wenn Sie auf ihrer Seite vermerken würden dass das Hotel im ersten Stock eines mehrstöckigen Hauses seine Rezeption hat und man bei Ankunft zuert mal klingeln muss, dies sorgte nicht nur bei mir, eine Rezeption am Eingang erwartend, für Verwirrun.
