Travel information

By car: whether travelling from north or south by car, we recommend you to take the highway exit on the A1 "Firenze Nord": follow the signs for the centre and the "viali circonvallazione". Continue towards the Fortezza da Basso - Exposition centre and looking for P.zza Indipendenza, we are in the middle of the square at n° 5.

By plane: the Amerigo Vespucci airport is 5km from the centre of Florence, a taxi ride to the Hotel Caravaggio takes approximately 15 minutes/cost 15/20 euros. Otherwise outside of the airport take shuttle bus for the centre 20 minutes.

By train: as you walk out of the central railway station Santa Maria Novella take the exit on the left, McDonald's side on the right side of McDonald's you find via Nazionale, walk in for 5 minutes you will see a square Piazza Indipendenza, we are the second hotel on your right side n.5.

About the property The room was very small but for the price in Florence you can't beat this hotel. The staff was very friendly and took time to help with info on the area. The breakfast in the morning was nice and well thought out, not just donut and coffee. Ask for room in the back, we were on the street and it was hard to sleep with the street noise. OVerall great bargain for this area, would stay there again.

About the property We enjoyed our stay in the Caravagio: it was superly located - ie walking distance from the Station(5 minutes walk at most) and easily found. It was also near the main attractions in Florence. The hotel was excellent value both for price and comfort and the staff made us feel very welcome and were very helpful. We recommend it to anyone travelling to Florence.
