Hotel Esquilino exist since
1920 and it is one of the first hotels in Rome. It's situated in a XIX
century palace built by the Aragona family and it was the residence of
prince Parini. It is located in front of the scalinata of the Basilica
S. Maria Maggiore, one of the four basilicas of the city. From some of
the rooms you can be impressed by the majestic square with the
egyptian obelisk placed by Sisto V during the 1500 Jubilee.
Hotel Esquilino is situated
in the heart of the "Rome of the Caesars", a short walking distance from
the Coliseums and the Imperial Forums, but also in the heart of the "Rome
of the Popes", with the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps, the
Presidential palace and Saint John in Lateran.
The Hotel is also situated at
a short distance from the central train station- Termini- which

staff speaks italian, english and french.
Hotel Esquilino is
appreciated by students, groups and families because rooms are very
spacious, illuminated and soundproofed. The staff is cordial and
helpful.
The Hotel has 21 rooms consisting of
twins, triples and quads.
Furniture is made in ancient venetian style.

Termini to the Hotel: Arriving from Termini - railway station - take
Via Cavour for approx. mt. 500. Surprisingly you’re going to see, at
your left, the amazing basilica. The Hotel is in an ancient noble roman
building situated in Esquilino's square at number 29 (corner of Via
Cavour).
From
Fiumicino to Termini: Roma Fiumicino Airport-Leonardo da Vinci FCA
has a small 3 track train station from which you can either take the
Direct Train to Roma Termini (scheduled every 30 minutes, leaving on the
7th and the 37th minute of every hour from 6:37 to 23:37, tickets are
Euro 9,30, and it will take 32 minutes).
From
Ciampino to Termini: Roma Ciampino Airport CIA is the closest
airport to town, but, having a lesser number of flights landing there,
it has no train connection to the centre of Rome. You would have to take
the Airport shuttle (about every 30 minutes) to Anagnina, the first stop
of the underground Metro line A. Take the underground from Anagnina to
Termini.
