A very characteristic "Locanda" of the beginning of the 1800, situated in the Valle d'Intelvi up the small town of Argegno, on the Lake of Como, surrounded by nature and calm, is the best choice for relax and nature lovers. It is like pay back time for those who have a thirst for the countryside and total silence. The Locanda was devoted to the short journeys and meditation periods of the priests. In 1998, the owners decided to refurbish completely the locanda, but at the same time trying to keep the original and characteristic features of the property. They also added all the amenities important for modern time and obtained a three star level.
The locanda has eight double rooms and one Suite which balcony faces the lake
of Como,
each one equipped with the best comforts. The furniture suits and creates the mood for each of them: the Geranio room is blessed with the panorama of the Sasso Gordona, the highest peak of the Valle D’Intelvi; the Mimosa and Ranuncolo face one the green lawn of the locanda and the best views of the Lake of Como; Genziana, Cicoria, Girasole, Papavero e Bocca di leone, the last two ones have a beautiful rustic ceiling, face directly on the Valle d’ Intelvi.
One of the best features of the Locanda is its restaurant, cosy and
exclusive, where you can taste the seasonal cuisine of the local
tradition.
A very romantic atmosphere and candlelight waits for you in the
veranda, while the typical room with fireplace is ideal for business or
a nice time with your friends. In summer, lunch or dinner is served
outdoors, with a breathtaking view on the lake of Como. Both the
locanda and its garden are at your disposal for unique bridal
ceremonies. The cellar dated from mid eight hundred, it has been refurbished completely to contain, to preserve and to age at a constant temperature of 12-14 degrees, more than 3000 bottles of the best selected Italian Wine.
We serve typical ham , salami and cheese with appetizers and wine tasting. More than two hundred selected labels, figure out every region of Italy and its best wine.
The Locanda Sant'Anna is distant only 20 km from the city of Como, 15 km from Villa Erba of Cernobbio. Situated 15 minutes from the Autostrada exit Como Nord (Como North) La Locanda (The Hotel Restaurant) Sant'Anna is set in the protected oasis of greenery, la Val d'Intelvi (the valley of Intelvi) known also as the The Green Balcony.
Travel information
Motorway -A9 Milano-Como-Chiasso- exit: Como nord. Follow in direction of Menaggio on the S.S. 340 Regina on the Como lake. After 12 Km you reach Argegno, drift for Schignano. At about 2.5 km you will find Frazione Sant'Anna, from which the Locanda's name comes.

Hotel Locanda Sant'anna Check out before 8a.m. there is no possibility to get breakfast. Price for restaurant is not in relationship to price for hotel room. The local area is wonderful and the staff is in a friendly manner.

Hotel Locanda Sant'anna It is a nice, but isn't a silent hotel on a wonderful place. We arrived on Saturday - there was a wedding in the restaurant and garden. On Sunday, too. On Monday it was the same situation in the neigbourhoud hotel. (The noise was huge) When we get known, that an other wedding will be on Friday, we wanted to left a day before our booking was. We told this to the hotel manager on Wednesday, however he said, that it isn't possibly because our booking was made by the Traveleurope, so we can leave, but we have to pay the whole fee. After all we left the hotel on Friday morning, (our booking was to Saturday) paid the whole fee, and lost EUR 105.

Hotel Locanda Sant'anna Up a hill probably two Kilometres from the village (pleased we had a car!) Very good restaurant with a large wine cellar. Helpfull staff. A quiet and pleasant place to stay, and only a few minutes drive to the coast road.

Hotel Locanda Sant'anna Qualités: Hotel bien situé, jolie vue sue le lac de Côme, à l'écart de la circulation. Le restaurant est bon. Les chambres sont agréables. Défauts: Chambres très mal insonorisées. Petit déjeuner inégal et l'on y fait le ménage en même temps. Et Accueil pas chaleureux (nous avions réservé pour 3 jours) spécialement s'il y a un mariage pendant votre séjour. Vous passez nettement au second plan. A éviter le week end... je le conseillerais avec ces réserves.
