Area information

The residential center rises above a gentle slope that leans out towards the sea, between the promontory of Punta Sardegna to the west and Capo d'Orso to the east. Its is the port of departure for La Maddalena. In the 18th century the coastline took on an important defensive role; Palau, like La Maddalena and Caprera, became one of the many sentinels deployed for the protection of the Strait of Bonifacio. Numerous fortifications were erected in strategic points, of which those of Altura and Capo d'Orso are among the most beautiful and imposing.

If you are coming by ferry from Genoa, Naples or Porto Vecchio (Corsica), the Hotel, which is located near the Tourist Port, is easily reached in few minutes walking distance; if you are coming from Olbia by ferry or plane, reach the Hotel by car or bus A.R.S.T.; journey times about 30 minutes, following the indications for Palau on SS 125.
