The hotel Parco dei Principi is situated on top of a sheer cliff overlooking the sea. The Hotel was designed and furnished throughout by Gio Ponti in 1962, and still preserves the designer's original work intact. The thirty different floor tile designs, arranged in a variety of ways to make up different decors for each of the hundred rooms, are a perfect accompaniment for the ceramic pebbles and the Melotti majolica plates, creating an overall, harmonius blend of carefully chosen shades of white and blue. The large, peaceful private beach is sheltered by the jetty and high speed lifts or down the ancient cliff path. It is equipped with private mooring facilities, a charming restaurant and an American Bar. The large swimming pool is filled with sea water and was envisaged by Ponti more as a "pond for wood nymphs" than as a mere attraction for swimmers. He described it as a pool "... out of which rise islands for the classical attitudes of Récamier or Paolina, of female beauty; and from the water emerges a masonry ladder to climb and then dive into the depths..." But there is an alternative to the swimming pool... the private beach. Located into a resort of unvaluable beauty designed as a space where you can pamper yourself away from the stress and strain of daily life and restore you and your body. Among its facilities, Hotel Parco dei Principican offer a 27.000 sq.mts secular park, sea-water swimming pool (open from May to September), private beach (Opern from June to September) and a fully equipped wellness center.

***parking: eur 15.00 per day

Waking up in a room at the Parco dei Principi, dazzled by the bright sunlight and the intense blue reflections searing through the windows and over the balconies and terraces that look out onto an infinity of horizons, is like a trip into a dimension of sublime beauty. The rooms still preserve their original Gio Ponti design. All rooms have their own bathroom, terrace or balcony, telephone, air conditioning, minibar and colour TV and all bear the imprint of the eclectic and practical talent of Giò Ponti.

At the seaside you can find the restaurant, with its seafood specialities, its continental cuisine or a truly excellent pizza. All you have to do is choose!

Parco dei Principi Had a wonderful 4 days despite the poor weather. Lovely big bedroom with a fantstic view. had dinner in Hotel dining room every night - it was so good did not need to go out to other restaurants. All the staff were excellent - reception, concierge, room maintenance and especially all the diningroom staff with particular reference to Monika and Rosana who looked after us so well. All in all a superb experience and hopefully will get the chance to stay there again.

Parco dei Principi the difference between an american double room and a European double room (twin beds vs. double beds) makes a big differnce in the number of rooms needed to accomidate guests.this should be noted. we were not given ample towels and had to use towels from the pool area because the maid did not replace the towel supply.

Parco dei Principi Two remarks: - we suggest to offer more fruits and vegetables (e.g. fresh tomato, salads) on the breakfast table, and fried bacon was not always available, - the hotel could offer half board at a price of 50 euro / person / day, which seemed a little bit expensive compared to the restaurant prices in he city, a moderate reduction would result in better utilization of the restaurant at evenings.
