Situated in Mira at a key point on the route between the nearby cities of Padua and Venice, the Riviera dei Dogi Hotel overlooks the Brenta Riviera Canal, renowned for the richness of its artistic and architectural treasures, and for the famous palladian villas in the area. From recently discovered historical records, it has been established that the hotel dates back to 1537. Initially planned as a weekend retreat for Contarini aristocratic family, towards the middle of the seventeenth century it was used as an inn, and retained this function until the end of the nineteenth century. It was during these years that the Hotel first began, initially under the name Hotel Cima. It was the first hotel on the Riviera del Brenta to offer a series of innovations which were to make it famous, even amongst the Venetian aristocracy, and it flourished until the end of the Second World War. Following the war, after a long period of neglect, conservative, expert restoration brought the building back to its original splendour, making the "Riviera Dei Dogi" a hotel of unique style.

Travel information

FROM TREVISO AIRPORT:

Catch bus Atvo Express (ticket costs 6 € per person, luggage included) and get off in Piazzale Roma in Venice (last stop). From here catch bus Actv “53 PADOVA” in C4 area (ticket costs round 5 €) and get off in Mira Porte. Go on for 50 m by feet direction Padova and turn left in via Mocenigo. At the end of the road turn right, then continue 50 m in via don Minzoni, until you will arrive in front of the hotel

FROM VENICE AIRPORT:

Catch bus Atvo 35 or Actv 5 (ticket costs 3 € person, luggage included) and get off in Piazzale Roma in Venice (last stop). From here catch bus Actv “53 PADOVA” in C4 area (ticket costs round 5 €) and get off in Mira Porte. Go on for 50 m by feet direction Padova and turn left in via Mocenigo. At the end of the road turn right, then continue 50 m in via don Minzoni, until you will arrive in front of the hotel

FROM S. LUCIA RAILWAY STATION IN VENICE:

Exit the railway station and go downstairs in front of the Grand Canal. Continue on your right to the Calatrava bridge (white stairs and glass-made parapetto) and cross it. A bit further there is Piazzale Roma, the bus terminal. From here catch bus Actv “53 PADOVA” in C4 area (ticket costs round 5 €) and get off in Mira Porte. Go on for 50 m by feet direction Padova and turn left in via Mocenigo. At the end of the road turn right, then continue 50 m in via don Minzoni, until you will arrive in front of the hotel

FROM THE MOTORWAY COMING FROM MILAN/ROME/BOLOGNA:

Take exit Mira-Oriago ad follow indications for Mira. At the trafficlight of via Boldani, turn left and after 100 m turn right in via don Minzoni. Follow for 300 m the road coasting along the river, until you will arrive in front of the hotel

FROM THE MOTORWAY COMING FROM UDINE/TRIESTE:

Take the last exit from the Mestre bypass following indications to Padova (blue traffic sign SS11). At the 2 following rotundas follow direction Padova. You will arrive at SS11 that coasts along the river. Continue along that road, toward Mira. After Oriago, at the second junction, turn left and follow for 300 m the road coasting along the river, until you will arrive in front of the hotel

Hotel Riviera Dei Dogi Large room but small bathroom with no bath. The shower was the whole bathroom. Overall the Hotel is very nice and clean. Althought the service and facilities were very good, the breakfast was very simple: coffee, juice, bread, jam, and yogurt.

Hotel Riviera Dei Dogi Ottimo hotel per trattamento e per camere, personale gentilissimo e collocazione fuori dai soliti circuiti turistici/molto rumorosi. Da non sottovalutare, comodissimo per raggiungere Venezia, Chioggia e tutta la riviera del brenta.

Hotel Riviera Dei Dogi Das Zimmer war relativ gross ausgenommen von WC / Dusche, diese ist sehr klein (ca. 1 m2). Ruhige Lage, ideale Lage für einen Venedigbesuch. Der Bus nach Venedig hält ca. 200m vom Hotel entfernt, Fahrzeit 30 min.

Hotel Riviera Dei Dogi Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage für Venedig-Besucher die nicht in Venedig selbst wohnen möchten ist optimal. Mira hat einige gute Restaurants, vor allem dasjenige unmittelbar neben dem Hotel gelegene ist sehr empfehlenswert. Der öffentliche Bus verkehrt jede halbe Stunde nach Venedig und nach Padova.

Hotel Riviera Dei Dogi Freundliches Personal, Zimmer klein aber sauber, Bad+ WC sehr eng. Prinzipiell ruhige Lage, jedoch sehr laute Klimaanlagenzentrale im Hof, sollte schalldämmend ummantelt werden- unmöglich das Fenster offen zu lassen. Preis-Leistung ok.

Hotel Riviera Dei Dogi Leider wird kein Abendessen angeboten, und die Möglichkeiten ohne Nutzung des Autos sind sehr gering. Als Start für einen Besuch von Venedig ist das Hotel sehr gut geeignet. Hilfe durch die Rezeption ist sehr gut.

Hotel Riviera Dei Dogi Wir haben das Angebot ohne Frühstück gebucht. Vor Ort wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass wir für 6 Euro ein Frühstück einnehmen können. Wir haben uns sehr darüber gefreut, waren aber im nachhinein sehr entäuscht über das Frühstücksangebot. Zum trinken gab es entweder einen billigen O-Saft oder Kaffe. Zum Essen gab es pro Person nur ein Croissant und ein kleines Brötchen. Nach nachfragen ob es noch mehr Croissants habe, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass es zwar noch mehr habe, aber die noch für die anderen Hotelgäste reserviert waren. Für 6 Euro hätte man mehr erwarten können. Z.B frische Fruchtsäfte, frisches Obst, mehr Brötchen pro Person, etc. Ansonsten waren wir aber sehr zufrieden.
