Saturnia Recommendable hotel with friendly and helpful staff.

Saturnia At the front desk, Diego was very friendly and helpful. The map of Rome that was provided was very useful. Service was good and the breakfast was fine. The room was cleaned every day. The air conditioning worked every day and was very welcome. The location of the hotel is very quiet and within walking distance of all attractions, the Metro and the train station. We had a great stay at the Hotel Saturnia!

Saturnia My husband, mom and dad and I stayed 2 nights at Hotel Saturnia after a 12 night cruise. Our stay was enjoyable. Our room was not ready when we arrived about 10:00am, so we did a bit of exploring (and they held our luggage) and by the time we got back at about 11:15 the room was ready. We had a quad room on the 3rd floor (actually the fourth, if you count the lobby as the first floor). The stairs are a bit slippery as they are partly marble and it was a long hike when you have over 2 weeks worth of heavy luggage, but the man from the front desk and the man who cleaned the roooms assisted us. The room had one king size bed, a twin and then another twin that more resembled a cot. The room was very clean, but a standard european room as far as amenities go. We were disappointed to see that although there was an air conditioner (as promised online), there was no where to plug it in. It was mounted on one wall and the only outlet in the room was on the wall at the far side of the room. The room was cramped with 4 beds in it, but we did have our own bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet (sp?). There was also a TV and mini-fridge in the room. We slept both nights with the window open and the shutters closed, which made the room cool, but with Italy playing in the world cup the one night, it was a bit loud. They provided shampoo, soap and fresh hand and bath towels each day. The breakfast was good - hard boiled eggs, plain croissant, chocolate and fruit croissant, corn flakes and milk, fresh fruit, orange and grapefruit juice, as well as fresh made coffee, capachino or tea. The location was convienent. It is right across the street from Santa Maria Maggiore. We went and saw Santa Maria and then caught the Sightseeing Roma tour bus for 12 euros a person, which makes 7 stops around the city and you can get on and off as you please. The tickets is good for 24 hours (but it only runs 9:30am - 7:00pm I believe) and they give you headphones which provide commentary about the sites as you pass them in your choice of language. We found this to be well worth the money.

Saturnia Have stayed in various hotels in Europe and expect small rooms, but this was rather ridiculous. One of the outside doors did not lock and was totally damaged.
6.4
Saturnia Hotel of medium standing but with nice and helpful staff, except to the fact that the person in charge at the desk upon our leaving missed to return our passports to us. We had to drive 150 km back to the hotel to claim for them! Hot water is hardly warm and air conditioner is turnes off.
