Built in 1911 for freight service to the nearby Market Garden which was in Largo Marinai d'Italia (now moved in via Cesare Lombroso), after the Second World War, the station of Porta Vittoria was also used for passenger traffic. The station that is visible today is the result of a thorough renovation which was completed in 2004. The area of Porta Vittoria is closed among the Molise and Umbria Avenues (city ring roads) and Corso XXII Marzo to the north, which leads straight to the Linate airport.
