Situated on the top of a hill, amidst the deep green of pine trees and the silvery green of century-old cork-oaks, the Relais offers a breathtaking panorama that sweeps over the beautiful town of Portoferraio and its port before dissolving into the bright blues of the sea. The isolated location, well above the roads that run 500 metres below and its large multi-hued park full of oleanders, geraniums and lavender, all make the hotel a peaceful oasis where the tap-tapping of green woodpeckers and the song of other birds become pleasant interruptions to the silence.
Its swimming pools, one of which is a Jacuzzi, nestling among the palm trees and surrounded by green lawns spotted here and there with flowerbeds of red geraniums, are an invitation to guests to either relax on the sun beds under the shade of large umbrellas or enjoy the benefits of the sunshine, far away from any source of pollution in pure and fresh air.
Fitness Centre, sightseeing trips, tennis, golf and the Marine Park. The Fitness Centre that offers Turkish baths, sauna, showers, sun beds for relaxation and, above all, Ayurveda massage by qualified Indian personnel, is the appropriate place for regenerating after months of stress and work in the city.

Fine furnitures and details have been specially designed for the Relais delle Picchiaie. Rooms have phone, minibar, Tv with satellite, air-conditioning and all the confort you may desire after a sight-seeing in one of the typical neighbour villages, and day long by the sea or a walk in the centuries-old wood that borders the Relais delle Picchiaie's property. Suites offer a living room, balcony or terrace and sea view, beside the other facilities available in the Classica and standard room.

Food & Beverage

The Restaurant, that live of the great Tuscan tradition, offers original and unusual dishes cooked in an excellent way by the young chef that doesn't fear any comparisons with the most important and famous chefs. In the wine cellar only Tuscan wines, introduced by a sommelier who show the guest the correct combination of food and wine, exalting the pleasant taste and the scents of the traditional Tuscan dishes. In the Hotel there is a small bar cured by a renowned professional barman who can exalt the special drinks he prepares. Room service for breakfast and rich snacks is available all day.

Healthy walks along the paths that riddle the woods, cycling, horse riding, a game of tennis in one of the courts or a round of golf on the links nearby … there are so many activities available for those who consider physical exercise part of a very special holiday. Then there's the sea of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park (an area where many of the special blue flags that denote clean waters have been awarded), the sandy beaches, the rocky shores and all the relative activities of a holiday by the sea.

Travel information

By car
To reach Piombino: from the North: take the A12 motorway to Rosignano, branch off onto the S.C.C. road towards Rome, exit at Piombino. From the South: take the motorway from Rome to Civitavecchia, branch off onto the S.G.C. road towards Livorno, exit at Piombino. 

By boat: from Piombino: take the ferryboat to Portoferraio (50 minutes sailing). From Portoferraio 5 km the hotel is then distant 5 km in the Porto Azzurro direction.

By plane: the Marina di Campo airport on the Isle of Elba can be reached from many Italian and European cities and is about 10 km from Le Picchiaie on the road to Portoferraio or a special shuttle service from Pisa International Airport to Le Picchiaie is available upon booking and request.
