The Nomentano district starts from Porta Pia and it is included whitin Via Nomentana, the tiburtina ring road, Via Lega lombarda and Viale del Policlinico. Place of interest in this area is surely the neoclassical Villa Torlonia with the whole series of smaller buildings that comprise it (the red cottage, the medieval one, the theater and the amphitheater, Capanna delle Civette, Serra Moresca). But in the Nomentano district, there are other interesting villas as well, like Villa Mirafiori, Institute of History and Philosophy and Villa Ximenes, example of Art Nouveau architecture.
