Serendipity Breakfast was provided in an offsite location. The staff spoke English and were friendly. The hotel seems to accept cash only and not credit cards. This caused some inconvenience.

Serendipity The hotel is clean, but old and the bedrooms are dispatched between several buildings which is weard. The staff is friendly but don't speak anything else than Italian and you must pay your bedroom CASH, that's quite annoying. You have your breakfast outside the hotel, in a small restaurant, and it's not exceptionnal, you'd better go somewhere else !

Serendipity It took 2 hours to locate the hotel we were going round and round. Since this hotel is in a common building it becomes impossible to search the hotel. I reached rome termini station at 11 pm and to get in the hotel it was 1 am next morning and my daughter was totally exhausted. The person at the Reception did not know a single word of english thankfully we got another traveller who spoke hungarian and english and could communicate with the reception guy in hungarian language. One more thing the hotel did not accept Credit card payment since they said that the management was changed and now the management is run by bangladeshi. The breakfast was utter flop we had it on the first day and on the second day we skipped it, it was mearly a croosiant and tea. The price is not worth for to pay for this hotel.

Serendipity The location was very good as we could walk to many places with no problems - But the best asset was the staff: Stefano Ianucci, even though he did not speak English and we spoke no Italian, went out of his way and beyond to answer to all our requests and needs. And Osman Goni was extremely helpful dealing with the Tour people. Both men are strong assets to the hotel

Serendipity The breakfast was at another location 2 blocks from the hotel. It wasn't really that bad walking but what if it was raining. That would be a disaster. -Also, the TV did not work 2 nights out of the 3. They said someone would be out (on a Saturday) to fix it. Come Sunday no one came to fix it and then they said that on the weekend they can't get service. The internet connection code was not correct when issued so we missed the first night. When I went to the office desk, only the security guy was on duty and he could not talk english at all. I asked for him to call the manager and he refused. I was very upset that there was no one there that could speak english to even let me know if the internet was down. Over all I cannot recommend this place.

Serendipity The elevator put me off and is ancient and most times we had to walk up the three floors. Not suitable for older travellers at all. Renovations were going on so we could not sleep till 2 in the morning. I was very upset at that and we complained but no body offered any compensation. The room next door also kept us awake the next night. We were made to pay cash when we checked out. Not good to be taken for a surprise at the last minute. The location was good, spacious and clean rooms. Breakfast only a coffe, juice from powdered concentrate (awful) and a croissant.

Serendipity The rooms were small as compared to the price taken. The rooms were in an apartment which was divided into rooms & not a hotel. The reception was in another building. No telephone lines to contact the reception. The AC was only running & had no effect. Also there was no breakfast room. The breakfast was away is some other hotel. The breakfast served was only 1 Criossant, Tea & Juice. Nothing else. When asked the hotel staff, they said it the Italian breakfast which is not clearly mentioned in the description.

Serendipity The hotel is very hard to find. There are no signage on the property. The building is very old and the elevator can only fit two people maximum. The location is very good - close to Termini, walking distance to many attractions. Recently, they had a change in management. When we stayed there, they did not accept credit cards, so we had to pay in cash. Also, the breakfast is served around the corner in a small bar. This has its own advantages - you are not restricted to breakfast hours only (beneficial for the late sleepers). Standard breakfast consists of coffe/tea/juice and a sweet. Overall, the hotel is very good.

Serendipity A very basic hotel with just a reception area and rooms located on the lower floors of what seems to be an apartment complex. Our room was clean and quiet and faced into a treed courtyard. Very easy to reach on foot from termini station, even with a suitcase in tow, but map provided on internet is somewhat misleading, as extend of termini station is not clearly shown. All the beautiful sights of Rome are close and can be either walked to or reached by public transportation.

Serendipity We were very disappointed when we checked out very early. First problem: the day before the reception gave us breakfast tickets to Bar Jolly and indicated it would be open at 6 AM. It was closed and we requested a credit, which was agreed to. Then the staff mistakenly charged us for the wrong room which resulted in a significant overcharge (close to 200 euros). He could not issue us a credit through our credit card (big surprise to us). We insisted on the cash credit which took another 10 minutes as he had to leave the premises. The hotel accommodated our request to store our luggage for 2 nights prior to our night stay. The room was very adequate but the departure was most unnerving.

Serendipity The staff was extremely helpful in getting around Rome. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The location was in walking distance of the Termini which was great. The only problem was they did not accept credit cards which I think was temporary. Fortunately, we had enough cash with us to pay our bill. We do not use ATM's because of the steep service charges etc.

Serendipity Bath advertised = Shower only. Not even a shelf in shower bathroom. Windows & blinds = Jammed each use. Had to get assistance. Breakfast taken a walk away in a tiny cafe & take away used by university students = is not acceptable - we only used it once. Blankets not there - ( needed) Brochure needs correcting. Beds comfort - Excellent. Fabulous Gardens.

Serendipity The hotel is located reasonably close to the Termini rail station and therefore well suited for travellers. The room was clean and the size was more than adequate for one or two nights. A word of caution as the hotel is just one part of a building and is not well signed - the street address is an absolute requirement. Breakfast was provided at another location and was quite forgetable - we did after the first morning. On the other hand the hotel's recommendation of a restaurant was first class - good italian meal - reasonable price and a great host.

Serendipity The room was big enough to fit the queen sized bed, a small tv, and two nightstands. The bathroom was very small, but very clean. Try to avoid the first floor if possible, because this is the kind of hotel where guests have to buzz in, and you can hear the buzzing from all the first floor rooms. The breakfast consisted of a prepackaged croissant, a bun, a coffee, and juice. The breakfast is served in a different building, about 1 block away. Overall, it is a convenient location (5 minute walk to the major train station), and gets the job done. Do not look for perks or luxuries here, it is your basic accommodation.

Serendipity As other reviewers have noted, the hotel was pretty hard to find at first, especially as the sign at the corner has the address but a different hotel name. Once we found it, though, we were very happy with it. The staff are young and friendly, the room was always clean, and the breakfast was simple but very good. The only complaint, which was minor, is that the hotel was a little noisy in the late evenings. The rest of the day and at night, though, it was quiet, and the noise didn't really bother us. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a simple, comfortable hotel at a reasonable rate. If you're looking for a hotel with all the bells and whistles, though, I wouldn't recommend Hotel Serendipity.

Serendipity Stayed for three nights in September 2007. Received a very warm welcome from friendly staff with recommendations of places to visit and helpful advice. Rooms appeared to be newly reburbished in excellent condition. Very clean with new towels and bed linen each day. Location excellent for proximity to Termini station. A little far away from tourist sites and the main nightlife however taxis very readily available if walking isn't your thing and cheap enough. Overall, a very happy stay!

Serendipity We had wonderful 5-day stay at Serendipity. The hotel was very clean, cleaner than most name brand hotels (I travel on business often) and the staff was wonderful. Alesandro was extremely helpful and made it easy for us to get going on our vacation Rome. The proximity to both the Roma Termini and the Metro is just unbelievably convenient!! I would recommend this hotel to anybody without any hesitation. The only slightly negative comment I would have is this: provide a little bit more food for breakfast, throw in some dry cereal and milk which will go a long way for tourists like us who would like to just some decent food into our stomachs before we hit the streets of Rome :-) Thanks, Serendipity!!!

Gruss an Serendipity!

The only down side was poor signage, it is part of a large building which has one main entrance to the courtyard through a gate. beside the gate has several brass plaques and one of these is for the hotel, but d'ont let this take from the hotel. The hotel is on the third floor and if the left is not working it ma not suit a older person. The staff had very good english and were very helpful. Enjoy

Serendipity Excellent hotel. Staff particularly was very courteous, friendly and helpful. I should mention that we lost some of our belongings in the town and the hotel manager (Ricaldo) went out of the way to help us in reporting this incident to our bank, insurance authorities etc in Britain. He provided us with necessary addresses, and was very kind to allow us his personal telephone to make international calls free of charges. We appreciate his gesture very much. Only problem was that it was not very well signposted on apprach of the building, and we faced small problem in finding our ways to get in the hotel.

Serendipity Friendly and very helpful staff, who gave us a warm welcome and catered for our every need. The hotel is almost brand new; spotlessly clean. Excellent value for money. All the best, Riccardo, for the future!

Serendipity We quite enjoyed this hotel. The location was great and the staff were very freindly. The greeting we received was one of the best I have ever received at any hotel! The rooms were nice and we thought the value for the money was very good. I would receommend that the hotel puts some shelving in the showers to put soap and shampoo on, but otherwise we were very happy with the hotel and the location. We are a young couple from Canada.

Serendipity Staff is what makes this place, a very basic breakfast (toast and coffee), a nice room and convenient location, but the manager really does make you feel at home and the advice and information he give is very good.

Serendipity A nice hotel with a very good price/quality ratio. The staff was extremely friendly, especially Riccardo who always provided us with some great hints about interesting places and nice restaurants. The breakfast is okay if you like toast, jam, honey, nutella, and a cup of (filter) coffee. The only slightly negative aspect is the high noise level caused by the nearby street, when having the windows opened.

Serendipity The breakfast could have been better. We received sliced toast. A croissant would have been nice!

Serendipity The hotel is new, and always very clean. The staff are always ready and willing to be of help in any way. The only small criticism I might have is that there is no countertop or place to put toiletries, etc. in the bathroom (we finally moved the desk chair in there for that purpose). Also, there is no shelf in the shower for soap, razor, etc. You have to lay everything on the shower floor. Other than these things, I would not hesitate to recommend Serendipity, as I think you would be hard pressed to find it's equal at the price. And it's within walking distance of the Termini. Mille Grazie Riccardo, Randy and Robert!

Serendipity We thoroughly enjoyed staing at Serendipity and will return when we are in Rome again. It had a great location by the train station. The only bad thing that happened was that the Metro closed at 9 pm and we had to walk back to the hotel from the Spanish Steps.

Serendipity Very clean, nice rooms. Hotel just opened in February, so everything is brand new and remodeled. The owners are very friendly and tried to make our stay great. Just a five minute walk from the train station! Overall, great deal for the price.
